Federal Tax Credit


The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ("The Stimulus Plan") includes increased tax credits for individuals who invest in qualified energy efficiency improvements for residential property.  Tax credits of 30% up to a maximum of $1500 are available for products such as insulation, heat pumps, and of course replacement windows and doors.

To qualify for the new tax credit, windows and doors must have a U-factor and Solar Heat Gain Coefficient (SHGC) equal to or less than 0.30.  An Energy Star rating may not be enough.
